Installation & use

Hang the feeder from a secure branch hook, shepherd's hook or feeder station with an open flight path around the platform. Seat the hanging cable or chain fully before adding food. Press one fresh orange half onto each fruit peg with the cut side facing outward, then add a shallow amount of grape jelly to each cup. Place the feeder where afternoon shade can help slow food spoilage.

Care & cleaning

Fruit and jelly can spoil quickly, especially in warm weather. Replace them daily during hot conditions and whenever they look dried, watery, moldy or contaminated. Lift out both cups, wash them with warm water and mild dish soap, and rinse thoroughly. Wipe or rinse the platform, pegs and roof as needed, then allow all parts to dry before serving fresh food. Avoid filling the cups too deeply.

Fruit-and-jelly feeder or nectar feeder?

Choose this model for its two removable jelly cups and separate orange holders. It does not have the enclosed nectar bottle and small feeding ports of a hummingbird feeder. If your goal is to offer hummingbird nectar, compare our hummingbird feeders instead. The two designs serve different food presentations rather than being interchangeable.

Should both cups be filled to the rim?

No. Begin with a shallow amount and check what is actually eaten. Discard old or contaminated food before adding fresh portions; do not keep topping up yesterday's leftovers. The cups make food removable for washing, not suitable for unattended storage.

Will the roof keep the food dry?

The roof provides overhead cover, but the sides are open. Wind-driven rain can still reach the cups and fruit, so inspect the food after rain and replace watery or contaminated portions. Shade and a roof do not replace regular cleaning.
